More Testimonials of the Sewer Sentry System

...the Sewer Sentry Inserts have greatly reduced the inflow into the gravity systems where they have been installed. By reducing the inflow, there are several benefits that will be realized over the lifetime of the sewer system such as reduction in electrical costs, reduction of wear and tear on the pump stations, increase capacity within the system for future development, reduction of overflows into ditches, etc. The inserts also provide a means for the system to ventalate which greatly reduces the sewer gases that corrode and destroy manholes, lines and pumping equipment.
The Water Services Department began working with JABAR Corporation [Sewer Sentry] to target the area in most need to begin installing the Sewer Sentry Manhole covers. 15 manhole covers were installed, this included site investigation, manhole inspections and repairs before the installation of the covers. JABAR group [Sewer Sentry] was very professional, organized and quick to complete the project in a timely manner keeping us informed throughout the project. We were unsure if the project could show success due to the limited scope of work. Project was completed in mid-August, and we received the first large rainfall in September as part of Hurricane Delta. It has been estimated that Walker received approximately 4.5 inches of rain in less than 3-4 hours. In the past, the 2 main lift stations in the area where the Sewer Sentry manhole covers were installed would have reached high levels and overflowed after as little as 2 inches of rain.

We were very happy to report that the City has no overflows or high-level alarms during the September event. It is estimated that we reduced our run time from 7 hrs to 2 hrs. Although it is difficult at this time to quantify the amount of saving in specific dollar amounts, it was clear to see the improvements in time and energy. The lift stations pumps ran much less, no man hours were needed for afterhours clean up and no time spent writing additional reporting to DEQ.
Earlier this year, JABAR Corporation [Sewer Sentry] installed 100 Sewer Sentry devices on manholes in Bernice, Louisiana in the Church Street Lift Station flow basin. Based on my observations and my conversations with the Town's operator, Bernice has seen tremendous reduction in inflow because of these devices. While the exact volume of inflow prevented from entering the sewer system is hard to quantify, the Town has seen reductions in both sewer system overflows and reductions in lift station pump run times since the Sewer Sentry devices were installed. For these reasons, we believe the Sewer Sentry devices were a good investment for the Town of Bernice. The Town hopes to continue to install additional Sewer Sentry devices in other areas of their system.

Earlier this year, JABAR Corporation [Sewer Sentry] was contacted by the City of Monroe to install Sewer Sentry devices on manholes in the aforementioned sewer bassis in the Point Drive/Bayou Lane lift station area and the Forsythe Avenue/Timber Lane Drive lift station area. Based on my observation and my conversations with the sewer superintendent, these areas have seen significant reduction in inflow because of the Sewer Sentry devices. The City has seen reductions in both sewer system overflows and reductions in lift station pump run times since the Sewer Sentry devices were installed. For these reasons, we believe the Sewer Sentry devices were a good investment for the City. These devices will continue to be installed in the City's sewer system to help reduce inflow.
